Joe Smarro is a decorated combat veteran, former Marine, and a pioneer in mental health advocacy. After serving in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom, Joe joined the San Antonio Police Department, where he spent 11 years building its nationally recognized Mental Health Unit.
As the CEO of SolutionPoint+, Joe works to transform communities by prioritizing mental wellness, crisis intervention, and de-escalation training. His Emmy award-winning documentary, Ernie & Joe: Crisis Cops, and TEDx talk, I See You, have inspired audiences worldwide.
With a bold mission to eradicate suicide among first responders, Joe continues to lead the charge in creating safer, more compassionate communities.
